The Power of Smiling

Smiling is a simple act with great power. It can brighten someone’s day—when I smile at a stranger, they often smile back. Smiling also makes us happier. Even if we feel sad, forcing a smile can lift our mood. Studies show smiling reduces stress and lowers blood pressure. At school, my friends and I share smiles before exams to calm down. A smile needs no words—it says “hello,” “thank you,” or “I care.” Next time, try smiling at someone who looks upset—you might make their day better.
